Solar Money Cat Wooden Base - Blue Moving Hand

In the commonly used interpretation of Maneki-neko symbolism, the right paw is associated with inviting money, wealth and financial good fortune. And there is more financial symbolism in the details. The Chinese lettering on the raised paw refers to money luck and attracting wealth, reinforcing what the paw is already saying. The fan held at the front is decorated with Lucky Cat imagery, while the smaller cats around the design add to the feeling of abundance and good fortune rather than making this a purely decorative figure.

The blue colouring gives this version a calmer character than the gold cats. Blue is sometimes associated with wisdom and success in learning in modern Lucky Cat colour symbolism, although meanings vary between makers and traditions.

The solar-powered movement gives the symbolism a little life, with the paw continually performing its beckoning gesture when the cat receives enough light. For retailers, this makes a thoughtful gift for someone starting a business, hoping for financial success or simply wishing for greater prosperity — with a rather cheerful cat doing the asking.
