Crafted to resonate with both the senses and the soul, this Extra Large Chaken Handmade Singing Bowl is a powerful instrument of sound and stillness.
Measuring 21 centimeters in diameter and weighing approximately 1.2 kilograms, it is hand-hammered in India by skilled artisans who preserve the centuries-old tradition of bowl making. Each piece carries its own unique character with subtle imperfections, intricate textures, and a depth of tone that can only come from true craftsmanship.
The name "Chaken" has roots in Japanese and Tibetan spiritual traditions, where such bowls were used during sacred tea ceremonies and temple rituals. Traditionally Chaken bowls produce a clear, grounding sound that lingers in the air, gently guiding the mind toward presence and calm. This bowl, however, is versatile and able to sing beautifully when played around the rim as well.
Used in meditation, sound healing, yoga, and ceremonial practice, Chaken singing bowls are known for their deep, calming vibrations. They support inner balance, enhance focus, and help clear mental and emotional clutter. Used in a therapeutic setting or as part of your daily mindfulness routine, this singing bowl serves as a portal to stillness and intention.
Made entirely by hand in India, this bowl is not only an instrument but also a meaningful object—a blend of spiritual symbolism and artisanal heritage.
It invites you to begin or deepen your journey into sound.

How to use
1. Find a Quiet Space
Choose a calm environment to fully experience the bowl’s sound and vibration.
2. Hold the Bowl
Place the bowl on the palm of your non-dominant hand. For larger bowls, rest it on a cushion or a flat surface for stability.
3. Striking the Bowl
Gently strike the outer rim with the padded end of the mallet to produce a rich, resonant tone. Let the sound fade naturally.
4. Making It Sing
Hold the mallet like a pencil, with a firm grip.
Gently press the mallet against the outer rim.
Move it in a slow, steady circular motion around the edge of the bowl.
As the friction builds, the bowl will begin to “sing” with a continuous tone.
5. Focus and Breathe
Use the sound as a focus point for meditation, relaxation, or mindfulness. Let the vibration guide your breathing and awareness.
