What makes Lokta paper so unique? It's made from the bark of the Daphne Papyracea plant, which grows wild in the Himalayan forests. The bark is harvested sustainably – the plant naturally regenerates – and then processed entirely by hand. The fibres are turned into pulp, shaped, and sun-dried to create a durable, eco-friendly paper with a wonderfully textured feel you simply won't find in mass-produced alternatives.
Each notebook is a product of fair trade, ensuring Nepali artisans are paid fairly for their skilled work. By stocking and selling these items, you're not only supporting sustainable craftsmanship but also helping preserve a centuries-old cultural tradition and uplifting local communities.
