The paper behind the parcel

Lokta paper begins with the inner bark of a Daphne shrub that grows in Nepal’s hills. Lokta shrubs regrow after harvesting. The bark is made into pulp, formed into sheets and dried. You can see the handwork in the finished paper: its fibrous surface and small variations give a wrapped gift a very different feel from a roll of standard gift wrap.

The paper has a long ancient history in Nepal, including use for important documents that need to be kept over a long time.

Give customers something to picture

The large sheets belong beside gifts that could be wrapped in them. Keep one sheet open so the colour and texture are visible, then wrap a box or journal from your own range as an example. A finished parcel explains the paper faster than a stack of folded sheets.

The A4 packs have a different audience: card makers, scrapbookers and people who like making things by hand. Keep them with notebooks and craft supplies, where customers can see a reason to pick up a pack.
