Supplier of Molten Glass on Wood to Resell in Your Shop
  • Made to stop the eye – The contrast of glass against rugged natural wood gives a display immediate theatre, while useful forms give customers a reason to take one home.

  • The wood becomes the mould – Bali glassmakers form recycled glass while hot over generally gamal wood, allowing it to settle into the base’s natural curves.

  • Small gifts to showpieces – Compact bowls and vases sit alongside decanters, candle holders, terrarium forms and larger statement pieces, covering several gift and home décor price points.

  • Simple to present in different ways – Style a sample with reindeer moss, gemstone chips, an air plant or dried flowers and customers quickly see what they could make.

  • Visible artisan character – Wood grain, irregular contours and the way the glass settles will vary; small bubbles and light surface marks can naturally occur.

  • More than one shop type – A natural fit for gift shops, garden centres, plant boutiques and independent interiors stores.

  • Attractive retail positioning – Accessible gifts and higher-ticket centrepieces leave room to build a coherent display with sensible retail margin.

The Wood Comes First

This is not simply a glass bowl balanced on a lump of wood. The wooden form comes first. Recycled glass is heated, worked by hand and carefully formed over the timber. As it cools, the glass follows the dips, ridges and unexpected twists in the wood.

The result is a glass form and wooden base that belong together. That also gives shop staff a wonderfully simple story to tell: the wood is effectively the mould, so another piece may follow the same design but will never settle in precisely the same way.

Gamal: Bali’s Working Tree

Much of the collection uses gamal wood – Gliricidia sepium – a practical tree familiar in tropical farming rather than a polished cabinet timber. It grows quickly, resprouts after cutting, fixes nitrogen and is widely used for living fences, light shade and soil improvement.

On a molten-glass piece, the bends and irregular growth that would usually be cut away become the whole point. Some designs use different woods or finishes, including whitewashed and parasite wood forms, so the individual product details should always be checked when the material matters.

Selling, Display & Marketing Ideas

  • Build height, not clutter – Use one strong statement piece, a medium bowl and some smaller giftable forms to create a display customers can understand at a glance.

  • Style one and leave one bare – Fill one sample with moss, gemstone chips or an air plant, but keep another empty so customers can properly see the glass and wooden base.

  • Show the meeting point – Use a close-up photograph or short rotating video showing where the glass follows the wood. That is the detail which explains the craft.

  • Sell the scenery – Place reindeer moss and gemstone chips nearby with a small card saying, “Make Your Own Miniature Landscape.”

  • Easy cross-selling – Merchandise with stones, moss, dried flowers and suitable plant accessories.

  • Put two together – Display similar pieces side by side and invite customers to notice the different contours. Variation becomes part of the attraction rather than a surprise after purchase. Smaller giftable pieces can sit alongside larger statement products.

What makes a sensible opening selection for a smaller shop? +

Begin with an accessible bowl, a vase or candle-holder design and one larger piece to anchor the display. The smaller pieces test demand; the statement piece attracts attention to the whole family.

Will the piece delivered look exactly like the website photograph? +

No. The overall design and intended use should be recognisable, but the wood grain, base contours, glass shape and dimensions may differ slightly. This is genuine natural and handmade variation rather than a printed pattern being reproduced repeatedly.

Are bubbles and light scratches considered faults? +

Small bubbles and light surface marks can occur during handmade glass production and are noted on the family page. Chips, cracks or structural damage are a different matter and should be inspected separately when goods arrive.
